Today on Styled by Becca, we’re talking all about skincare. You know the topic that no matter how many Cosmo articles you read, you still can’t figure it out. Yeah, don’t worry, you’re not alone. I’ve spent years trying to find a brand that works with my skin, hormonal acne, and college-student budget. So grab that glass of sweet tea, wine, whiskey (I’m not judging) and get ready for a skincare breakthrough.
So for the past two weeks or so, I’ve been using three different AcneFree products: the 24 Hour Acne Clearing System, Advanced Deep Cleansing Duo, and Maximum Strength Terminator 10%. Below I’ve broken down what each product is and how it works.
*24 Hour Acne Clearing System | If you’re looking for an easy skincare system, I totally recommend this one because there’s only three steps involved: Oil-Free Purifying Cleanser, Renewing Toner, and Repair Lotion. The key is the Micro-Benzoyl Peroxide, which helps to dig into your pores for a faster and deeper clean.
1. Oil-Free Purifying Cleanser: Exfoliating micro-beads help to deep clean, remove dirt, and get rid of acne bacteria.
2. Renewing Toner: Made up of vitamins, Witch Hazel, Chamomile, and Aloe. It helps control oil and even out your skin tone.
3. Repair Lotion: Helps keep skin moisturized and stops new breakouts before they appear.
*Advanced Deep Cleansing Duo | Comes with the Oil-Free Purifying Cleanser and Facial Cleansing Brush. Both work to exfoliate the face, get rid of dirt, and deep clean those pores. Make sure you clean the brush head after each use otherwise bacteria/dirt will remain behind and it won’t help you face at all.
*Maximum Strength Terminator 10% | Spot treatment that works with advanced micro-benzoyl peroxide to work faster and dig deeper into your pores. Chamomile, Ginger, and Sea Whip Extracts help fight away redness/irritation and soothe skin. Put on acne either overnight or one to three times a day.
So now that you’re a little more acquainted with AcneFree, let’s talk about why you should start a skincare routine at a young age.
Your older self will totally thank your younger self. Trust me on this one. I may be only twenty-one but I so wish I would have started good skincare habits in my teenage years. I feel like my skin would be brighter, tighter, and have less acne breakouts. However, it’s not too late at all. Most dermatologists say you should start a skincare regimen in your 20’s. So if you’re a fellow twenty-something, you still have time...don’t worry! If you’re not a twenty-something anymore and haven’t began taking care of you skin...get it together girlfriend!
You won’t age as fast. Seriously. Start a good anti-aging regimen in your twenties and I can promise that your thirties will thank you. My grandma did the same thing and has the best skin even in her 70’s.
It’ll be easier to implement a skincare routine in your busier life after college. Most twenty-somethings use the excuse that they’ll start with the whole skincare thing after they’ve graduated college and enter the real world. The only issue with this is that once you graduate, your life only gets busier. If you start while you’re younger, it’ll already be a routine and the norm to you when you’re older.
*24 Hour Acne Clearing System || $ 16
*Advanced Deep Cleansing Duo || $ 4.97
*Maximum Strength Terminator 10% || $ 17

Can y'all see now why I'm loving these AcneFree Products?! Perfect for anyone on a budget who suffers from acne.
My Current Skincare Routine
1. Use the brush and cleanser from the Advanced Deep Cleansing Duo. I use this at night to get my makeup off. Best feeling ever. I love using the brush because it totally feels like I’m getting a facial. In my pajamas. I mean, what’s better than that?! I also use it when I shower just to give my skin that extra clean. || First, splash cold water on your face, add the cleanser onto the brush (you only need a small amount), and go into clockwise/upward motions around with the brush.
2. Renewing Toner - I like to use the toner after step one to get the rest of the gunk and make-up that the cleanser/brush may have missed. It also helps to even out your skin tone. SCORE. || You can use a cotton ball, tissue, or your hand to apply the toner. Don't wash it off when you're finished.
Repair Lotion - Okay, so after step one and two, your skin needs a little moisturizing. I like to put this on at night before I go to bed and in the morning before my makeup goes on.
Terminator cream - Use this every night for those breakouts that are about to form. If you’re not going anywhere during the day, apply one to three times to faster results.

Although this was a collaboration with AcneFree, I HIGHLY recommend their products y’all. I suffer from hormonal acne and found nothing to really work except very expensive medicine from the dermatologist. Super glad I tried these products because my face is starting to clear up. I still have a breakout or two but I’ve only been using the products for about two weeks now. To see the best results, you need to consistently use it for about a month. Don’t get me wrong though, just like the name says it started to clear up in 24 hours. It wasn’t like all of my acne went away in those 24 hours, but it did look drastically different and the amount of breakouts I got after that were only one or two, which is totally normal. If you’re wanting to buy these items, click the photo above or head to your nearest Wal-Mart. They have all the products at a super low price.
